History:

Known originally as the Midlothian and Peebles District Asylum, it opened in 1874 to serve the landward parishes of Edinburgh and Midlothian. It became known as Rosslynlee because of its proximity to the local railway station. In 1948 it became part of the Board of Management of the Royal Edinburgh Asylum and Associated Hospitals under the South Eastern Hospital Board.

Our explore:

So this is our first urban exploration in Scotland. We came across an article on Rosslynlee Hospital, and we realized it's pretty close to us, so why not go and explore it a bit.
As others have already pointed out the place is sealed up tight, and also there are quite a few CCTV cameras installed.
We didn't have the chance to explore the whole building, and all the rooms (the place is like a labyrinth). We were especially interested in the morgue, but we didn't find it.

Photos:

(My favourite one is the fungus covered armchair)

Not been here since I was a teenager! It was still a lot more intact back then and easier to access! although I’m wondering if it’s worth a trip back
