My company are involved with the site and there was talk of removing the steps altogether or filling it up with concrete for a nice base for the new housing to sit on
Why would they do that? They’ll need to survey it again in years to come, they can’t just leave it and hope it doesn’t collapse under the new builds

They would use the other entrance i would assume

That defeats the purpose of sealing one up though surely, if they want to get in bad enough they’ll drop down the other one

sealing the commonly used one or removing the staircase would make sense,not like you can just pop down the other one whenever you felt like it due to its location,one way of stopping unwanted traffic down there
