Well we had been waiting for this one for a while! Another testament to the old check check and check again! It pays dividends!
The Royalty pretty much ticks every box on the Deco features list for cinemas... Plasterwork, glass, woodwork ect etc. The lavish interior was built at the height of the deco revolution for cinemas, and unlike most has survived amazingly unscathed. The lack of projection room, cellar or under stage epic took nothing away from what was a very enjoyable explore. I was particularly taken by two panels of stained glass which depicted the usual sunrise design with a landscape in the foreground.
