Visited with @WB and @tweek one evening a few weeks back, Rumbelow is a culverted section of the River Dearne in Denby Dale.

‘Denby Dale is a village and civil parish in the metropolitan borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England, to the south east of Huddersfield. ... The River Dearne runs through the village; in the floods of 2007 it burst its banks on two separate occasions and caused damage to Springfield Mill.’

(Info via: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denby_Dale )

Starting from the upstream end, there’s firstly a short open tunnel...

Which soon leads into another short section...

After a short walk is the longest section, here protected by the caged culvert monster... This heads under a factory before emerging near to the viaduct...

Beneath the factory were these outlet vents that had blown out some kind of textiles fluff as a result of whatever processes were going on above.

This is where we probably could have left things, but further investigation downstream revealed another couple of sections, the latter of which proved to be quite back busting. The far end was guarded by a fierce plastic goose...

Finally climbing out we were met by a self-appointed king of the village who began by telling us off for getting in his culverts, but soon chilled when he realised we weren’t stealing his fish.

Ha ha, cheers! If I see any drain geese not made of plastic I’ll keep a safe distance...

Yeah, the end section was a stoop and a half.

That's me on a good day!
Nice to finally see this report and the photos from the bottom end that I totally failed to get.
