A mid-century industrial building on Pyenest Street last inhabited by a company called Shallcross Woodturning before they vacated and moved to newer premises in Fenton (and subsequently closed again permanently due to retirement).

Pyenest Street has undergone a substantial transformation in the last few years with rows of Victorian terraced housing demo’d around 2008 for some kind of ‘mass redevelopment’ which has yet to take place.

This little industrial building itself would have originally been surrounded by Victorian houses, hence its slightly strange, hidden appearance, shoe-horned up against the Caldon Canal. This place didn’t really contain anything interesting tbh but it was somewhere to wander whilst sobering up slightly after being out for dweebs birthday.

Former public house called Harry Ramjams and more Victorian housing. The pub is apparently due to be retained in future plans for the area.

Some nice wood in there!

Seems lazy not to reuse the canal side industrial buildings and convert them into some nice apartments or something. Yet again the superb imagination displayed in numerous "masterplans" locally strikes again.
