So this is a usual spot for me and my girlfriend to hang out as we like to have a smoke and during corona virus there is nowhere indoors / warm we can go. And as this is in my home town and local it is a regular place for us to go!
History: Me and my girlfriend have both spent some time trying to find out the history of this place, but no solid evidence on what it was, though I have looked on the .gov website and found out the reason for the building not being in use is "First Gazette" (https://www.thegazette.co.uk/all-notices/content/100865) See linked for more info.
From what we have seen there are 3D printers, and many other things that suggest it was being used for printing. Such as printers, papers, etc. But the building just next to the Shenstone Court buildings is Photo Booth which they could very much be using this building for storage (I know someone who works here so I will get back to you on this one)
The building was listed to sell for £750,000 but we're not sure if it is still for sale as all the websites say it isn't but there are signs on the building itself suggesting it is.
Pictures:
We'll start from the outside of the building, it looks pretty trashed but we've seen a lot worst by far.
This was a seperate part to the warehouse and courts. I lifted myself over the gate but the inside was very empty with nothing but a toilet room in the back.. If you explore i wouldnt recommend going in as it's pretty pointless and empty and was a ball ache to get out (Literally)
The entrance: The entrance was relatively easy to, there was a big hole in the side of the wall where someone has smashed through, then after a bit of climbing we was right in. The first thing we saw when going in was an old 3D Printer which I am surprised is still there ↓ Entrance
The Warehouse: As soon as you enter you are greeted with a pretty open warehouse, which is in pretty good condition.
↓ At the bottom of this photo you can see the PhotoBooth posters which suggests this is being used for storage. (Don't worry we watched our steps and didn't damage a thing)
The Electric Mains
Upstairs to the warehouse:
(We climbed up the ladders though unstable. The view wasn't the greatest so wouldn't suggest.- We took in turns climbing whilst the other person held the ladders as they were wobbling)
The Office Blocks; We explored the office blocks and they were completely trashed. Chavvy graffiti everywhere and mostly just smashed to bits.
I hope everywhere likes the report (Don't mind some constructive criticism as don't report much (I am going to report tons of places in the next few months, a lot of places that haven't been reported yet. Includiing rooftops in Birmingham!
Thanks all!
