Report - Shorts Tunnels - Rochester

Hi all, new around here and new to urbex'ing as well. Really enjoying it at the moment. Planning a few visits up to london around canary wharf area for some serious building climb-age soon.

I live in strood so really close to rochester, popped down shorts tunnels with "mushcan" and "akanekal". Just thought i'd sharer some of the photos with you guys. Feel free to comment!

Looks like a generator to me... or a transformer

Kinda eery...

Cog on the side of... something... something rusty...

This is what you get with a 45 second exposure and a mate walking towards you with 2x20LED torches shining on the ceilings.... bright btw

These are littered across the floor as soon as you chuck a left after entering the tunnels... kinda interesting, the recipient address was in baghdad, iraq

This was akanekal walking away randomly swinging our two mag-lites seeing as mushcan found another one on the floor... (anyone lose one btw?)

As simple as this one looks, i actually like this shot a lot more than a few others... nice

Both mag-lites on again, they are truly the best for eerie orange lighting

This was the random spanner on the floor of that fookin scary spider cave... seriously, don't go in that one....

Look, don't say anything, i know it's a toilet... just be quiet

Ok, so the usual team consisting of me, mushcan, akanekal and Paul (yes, just paul) headed on down to shorts tunnels again yesterday, with the main aim of experimenting with candles and other forms of strange lighting, our end list mainly consisted of tea-lights, lighters and glowsticks... lots of them

Heres a few shots from the trip:

This was one of the tea-lights in one of the doorways (i think it was a toilet, no?) There was a line of them

Heh, this is were Paul got funky with some glowsticks, he danced around alot basically... Crazy effect!

This may look familiar to some of you who have been previously, yes, it's the well, and yes, that's Paul down the bottom of it... Basically, we thought it would be uber great if we could get candles lit in the footholes in the walls of the well. Paul piped up saying he would go down there. Never one to hamper a good photo opportunity, we all agreed and this is how it went.

Now we're getting somewhere...

He he he he.... Doesn't that just look the SEXIEST well EVER!!! Definately worth it... Is it safe to say we are the first party ot have gone down the well AND light it up??? ;-)

So there you go... before leaving we packed up all the candles (don't want the tunnels on fire now, no matter if it would produce interesting photos) and got the glow sticks out but I'll leave it for the others to show, I've filled my image quota for the day, lol...
