went down for a visit to this post on a free day in hopes that someone had started to dig this post back up as it had been reported by sub brit that the shaft had been filled with both mud and asbestos. upon arriving and working out how to get me and my bike through the bushes and barbed wire fence looking down the shaft it was evident that people had been trying to re-open the post as asbestos was scattered everywhere and the shaft was had become deeper. along with this spades lay in and around the post.

Yeah Greg Re : Roc posts and Master posts of the Royal observer Core . Asbestos roofing its not to bad , you can tread on it and if it breaks you are to far from the dense asbestos particularly if wet. if you break nearer to chest height its pretty lethal stuff that can take years to come out as a problem in breathing . in general asbestos is safe if left alone, when disturbed thats when there is a problem. Most 1940 concrete has asbestos in also as it was a cheap additive.
