The first of many buildings we found / visited on our recent trip around the very beautiful country of Italy on the sniff for turbines and primo dereliction. Trip report here: http://www.28dayslater.co.uk/italian-turbine-tour-italy-june-2015.t97245

This was a very small hydroelectric power plant producing around 375kw, specifically to provide power to a factory nearby that had long since switched to grid power / changed use generally, in fact it seemed to have become the local communeā€™s recycling depot.

Our first encounter with Italy's ferocious undergrowth... It was clear that no-one had been in or near this building for years as brambles as thick as my arm, trees, giant hogweed and all sorts of spiky fuckers had wound their way around almost every elevation, apart from the one hanging over the 'race' It took an hour and some serious hacking to get through the 50ft or so becoming severely lacerated in the process, finally emerging onto the precarious ledge above the water race.

Only a small building so not many photos:

No, same here. Can't see how anyone would get excited over vintage turbines.
