Not posted a report for a long, long time. Purely down to not getting out, but this is basically in my back yard so no excuse.

Well, one excuse - the dog was with me, so couldn't venture too far. Heras etc.

So it's a pretty short one, until I get there on my own and have a proper wander.

Not a patch on @mattdonut report, but it does show it in the daytime.

Main Colliery area

This wasn't actually part of the Colliery but part of the main railway that was decommed back in the 50s. It was transported here when the Colliery closed for preservation.

No idea why there's a barge there!

I'll hopefully get a better report up when I've had more of a wander, will see what happens but thought I'd show my face and contribute a bit.

Nice work mate, did you look at the bus depot before it was stripped ?
No, unfortunately not. Looks pretty sad now from what you put up the other day

Thinking about the old coop building on mantle lane at some point as well.

The bus depot is being mostly saved as a showroom, doing a pretty good job of it as well.

From reading local history, it was indeed capped in 85, but the ropes were kept intact, thats about the extent of what I could find out though. My neighbours dad worked the mine, so ill ask him.
