Not posted a report for a long, long time. Purely down to not getting out, but this is basically in my back yard so no excuse.

Well, one excuse - the dog was with me, so couldn't venture too far. Heras etc.

So it's a pretty short one, until I get there on my own and have a proper wander.

Not a patch on @mattdonut report, but it does show it in the daytime.

Main Colliery area

This wasn't actually part of the Colliery but part of the main railway that was decommed back in the 50s. It was transported here when the Colliery closed for preservation.

I'll hopefully get a better report up when I've had more of a wander, will see what happens but thought I'd show my face and contribute a bit.

It's all gated off now sadly. I went to visit family in Coalville and i attempted to visit it. Also wanted to go to the old bus depot again but thats being tore down

don't see many old mine with cable out of the winding house over the head stocks still..... do you know if these shafts are capped or not id like a look in the actual mine if possible

The bus depot is being mostly saved as a showroom, doing a pretty good job of it as well.

From reading local history, it was indeed capped in 85, but the ropes were kept intact, thats about the extent of what I could find out though. My neighbours dad worked the mine, so ill ask him.
