Me and my umbox team visited this former sports centre one morning knowing it'll be gone within a month or so, not the best thing you'll see come out of Huddersfield but makes a change from all the usual spots.

In 2010 Tesco made an agreement with the council to purchase the site of the sports centre and some nearby buildings. However due to financial cutbacks at the supermarket they had to buy their way out of the agreement and shelf any plans for a new store. A new £ 36 million pound sports centre was built to replace it and opened last may as the old centre shut a few days earlier.
