This was our first visit to this site. This is the 5th site we have visited in the UK so still fairly new to the urbex community. Looking forward to posting many more visits on here in the near future!

History
The mock-Tudor building was originally built in 1874. Purchased by Ian Gillan of Deep Purple in the early 70s, the property was renovated and used as a country home.

Until 2014, it was used as a 32-bed hotel for visiting golfers and visitors to the beautiful surrounding area.

Access
The site is visible from the main road but is heavily boarded up/fenced with security signs and some cameras. Parked up a short walk away and managed to gain access to the site. Note: There are large areas of the site in full view of the clubhouse for the Golf Club and we had read a lot about security/police being alerted by golfers who observed explorers - take caution!

We managed to spend approximately 2 hours in the property, undisturbed. Sadly the famous guitar-shaped pool has now been filled :( Enjoy the photos!

Is this the same property that used to belong to that member of Deep Purple? Sure he had a guitar shaped pool too, didn't realise it was a hotel now
