Not popped many reports up on here for a while now.
I suppose I'll start with this place seein as we dont get much from here anymore.
Visited here recently with Brickman and Skin a few weeks ago.
St Geos in Morpeth was built between 1853 -1859 as a Corridor Plan Asylum as the Northumberland County Pauper Lunatic Asylum. It was opened with six males and six females from Bensham Asylum in Gateshead. The asylum was built at a cost of £58,000 to house 200 patients.
It closed in 1996 and remains derelict now with a new hospital St Georges Park built on the adjacent land. There was also a rumour it was to be demo'd shortly too.
One point to note is that Security have done a good job rescuring this place. A lot of creativity and some forward thinking was all it took to get in but Security seem to be pretty on the ball now compared to before on my last two trips.
A fantastic history of the place can be found here
