I've shot a lot of pretty odd locations in my almost full decade of exploring but this one takes the biscuit as the most unusual location and subject matter I have ever shot.

Leading up to my last trip I had noticed a few photos floating around on the dreaded instagram of these monster fifteen-foot tall busts. I never thought I'd be able to see them as after I managed to locate them I realised they were a great distance away from my planned route, but after I arranged to stay a few days with a friend in Baltimore I managed to persuade him that they would be worth the long drive to go and see.

There isn't too much to say about these intricately moulded Presidential busts really - apparently they were moved to their current location from a theme park that closed down in the late 00s and they have simply been left there, baking under the sun in a lumber yard. The heat from the sun was bad enough but with it reflecting off the white plaster it became pretty unbearable in the middle of them. Every president up to and including George W. Bush is represented and most are in decent condition bar a couple of unfortunate souls who have taken large bashes to the tops of their heads.

After we had finished we ventured into a nearby State Park to have a chill out and managed to sneak in a completely rotten abandoned mansion to end the trip so it was a worthwhile day out!

That is really strange. But what is even more curious, is why anyone would build a theme park with a load of presidential busts in the first place. It's not surprising it went out of business....
