The only other purpose I can think of for it is like a reception/entrance office for the developers. But it's a lot of effort to go to for that!
I agree - one hell of a reception or office and a lot of work for that!

A lot of this is being demolished soon. Worth a look round before that happens I reckon.

A large African security guard called Ola used to live in the old manor house building and he never used to mind you going round taking photos 'as long as you didn't go inside' - I remember seeing him on my first visit as we walked into the site, walking out of the site towards us wheeling a suitcase behind him!

Upper has been sealed for a few years now and lower requires permission from the farmer. You also need to be careful in Lower as there was a really nasty fall there last year.
