I first visited this site back in January this year, it was trashed then but it's even worse now half the furniture's been thrown out the windows. the locals are pretty vigilant and don't hesitate to call the police, also when we arrived there were alot of tractors buzzing around and the field you cross to get to the grounds was inhabited by cows which made acsess interesting..

history, (some stole from Weeble)

This 12 bedroom victorian house was owned by the Walford family. James Walford was a painter and published a book called 'A book of orchid paintings' About 7 or 8 years ago, James Walford died and Muriel went into a care home. The house has been empty ever since. Muriel died on 12th January 2011 aged 104.
It's a bit of a mystery that the house wasn't claimed by any descendants, or that all the clothes, paintings, paperwork and toiletries were left in the house.

on with the photos.

One of the outbuildings across the road from the house

an outbuilding in the grounds, there's also a nice greenhouse where they must have grown orchids, didn't get a shot though.

Re: Potters Manor and Outbuildings, June 2011

Cheers for posting, some good pics :thumb

But sadly let down by using imagekack to host them (in gods name WHY would you do that??:crazy)

I (literally) had time to go and make a coffee whilst the images loaded - if I wasn't waiting to approve the post I would have just given up waiting to see them, as I'm sure a lot of people will do if you try posting imagekack hosted reports - it's ok for the odd one or two pics - but sucks big time for this purpose :banghead

If you are planning more reports please shift your hosting first. :thumb

Really??????? You have got to be kidding right? If they are that vigilant then why is this place in this state and getting worse by the report?

Its a recent change, just back in in January I could walk up the driveway. I'm not saying it's hard to get in, but due to the recent vandalism and theft, they do call the police if they see cars parked nearby or anyone attempting to get in to the grounds.

Re: Potters Manor and Outbuildings, June 2011

The 1st pic with the piano is on the other side of the road to the house, the second pic is part of the green house/outbuildings that can be found if you venture up into the overgrown wooded area of the grounds. I remember the bannister candle in the liar room, Dont remember anything else though, I was trying to explore the place i haven't seen much of so i only had a peek in the liar room.
