Steetley Magnesite (Chimney Abseil)
Millhouse/Horus/Squirrell/Bigjobs/Ojay
We planned some North East goonage over a week ago, besides it was BigJobs birthday so a perfect excuse for dicking around
After a late start meeting up with Bigjobs & Millhouse, we headed over to Squirrells, who guess what, was late! (busy looking for his hat) FFS!
We had a few celebratory drinks on the way over to Horus' house along with a quick brew before heading on out into the nite
Stocking up on some much needed energy products, we then preceded to spend the night climbing stuff and generally getting up to no good
Eventually we were followed by some Fire Rescue dude at our last hit, so decided to call it a nite.. Well morning to be precise
We headed on over to Hartlepool and parked the car up for the night at our favourite fast food venue before a few Zzzzz's
As the sun started to rise, we prised ourselves from Bigjobs car, a couple of gulps of Red Bull and a short walk later and we were stood at the base of this 250ft + chimney - Steetley Magnesite
Having seen a few reports from Steetley, personally I was only interested in the chimney, as the place is f00ked and basically one big Derp, even the pikey's have given up with the place
Props to Bigjobs for his crude but effective access methods.. we were soon in
..When I say in, we were inside the chimney, attempting to haul a shit load of kit up some seriously sketch ladders over 250ft

Eventually we all made it up to the top of this beast, we spent a good 15 minutes chilling out before Bigjobs was on with rigging the descent...
The views are stunning, we couldn't have picked better conditions if we tried

Horus was too knackered and not feeling it, so Bigjobs dropped the ropes and they both climbed back down to meet us on the ground
All in all an Epic 24 hours, and a belter of a birthday for Bigjobs
