Driving back from some mates, I popped the Sat-nav to seek various ROC posts and Stoke Orchard was 10 miles away, so I went for a Gander.
As the post is situated on a frequently used road to a rubbish tip, you had to park a little further back and whilst walking the road, I saw what seemed to be a mega pill box.
I later found out it was a 'Seagull Trench' named so because it has the same V shape as a seagull's wing does.
The trench has prime view over each end of the road and the field beyond, which in the 1940's was known as RAF Stoke Orchard (Airfield).
The trench (as with the ROC post) is located on the side of a railway and on the other side of the railway is an old Battle HQ, although I only found out about this after the visit, so unfortunately no pictures of that.
