Visited with omen, after recents pics of demo/re-development on the way we decided to get up there and have a look before it was all totally gone.
Built after the Commissioners of Lunacy had insisted that the Corporation of London provide its own asylum for pauper lunatics rather than sending them to Bethlem Asylum in Lambeth, the City of London Lunatic Asylum opened in 1866 at Stone, near Dartford.
We turned up in the fog and found are way in, as omen has said in his thread, it wasnt a relaxed explore, security seemed to be everywhere, walking round the fence one minute then in the building the next, we rode are luck all day, with some very close shaves, but luck was on our side today.
Cheers to Welvsky for the heads up
