My second asylum we have visited small bit of history I know about it.
It was founded an asylum in 1904, Storthes Hall in KirkburtonXD and treated patients for 87 years.
In the early part of the 20th century, part of the hospital was devoted to treating shell-shocked World War One soldiers, but most of the patients were 'pauper lunatics' who were detained under the Lunacy Act 1890.
The hall was also home to women who were locked up for having children out of wedlock. They had to spend the rest of their lives there.

Everything is demolished apart from one building not sure what it was but these are the pictures I have got today.

When we where there we did see two people who didn't look like security but they did tell us that it was privete land and a car was on the site once it had left there was no body to be seen so we could have a look around without being caught. There was a security camera as you can see in the picture but it wasn't working by the looks of things.

I have been told that they may have plans to turn the land into something else so not sure how much longer this will be here, but hopefully it's something useful and not a waste.
