After finding the black and white photos earlier in the day, and then having my main explore thwarted, I decided a small explore was better than no explore!
This is the old station site for Studley & Astwood Bank as part of the ‘Gloucester Loop’ line – connecting Gloucester to Birmingham.
Opened 4/5/1868 and closed 6/7/1964 – having it’s tracks lifted.
As far as actual accessible buildings are concerned – there isn’t any so I’m not going to be too fussed if this heads for the recycle bin.
Bricked up windows and bolted doors have done a good job of keeping undesirables out.
Loading platform. Far left is the passenger station building - now a private house.
The goods shed - signal box has long gone.
Could make a great little house for a rail enthusiast..
... with a tidy roof structure still looking in fairly good nick!
The old rail line - looking towards Birmingham.
