Supercharger A and B, Manchester

May 2014 - Explored with ViralEye, Ojay, NickinDroy and Stranton

A nice introduction to drains for new explorers was the plan for this trip organised by Ojay but unfortunately none came out to play, just the usual suspects along with Stranton making the journey over from the other side of the country.

Starting out at the walk in outfall of Supercharger B we are met with a wide brick arch construction and almost immediatly the tell tale smell of fresh coming from a side pipe leading up to a small sewer overflow chamber. After few quick photos here as the air wasn't the best we carried up the culvert, the shape changing to a smaller arch which was to continue for the majority of the drain. Eventually we came to a small waterfall that looked good with the amount of water coming over the top of it as it had been raining quite heavily for the past few days. unfortunately I only got one bit of a photo of it, so a return visit may be needed!
As Supercharger B ends, the brook passes under a railway viaduct before we come to the outfall of Supercharger A. The only feature of this shorter section is a small wooden 'thing' (not sure of its purpose!) in a chamber from another small sewer overflow.

Towards the end of this jaunt, Ojay decided that we all needed a lesson, in finding watercourses. :D
