Question - Surrey air raid shelters

Good morning girls and guys.

My boy has a topic on WW2 bunkers for school and I was wondering if you know of any air raid shelters locally that we could go and explore for research?

We are planning on popping over to Ashley road, Cane hill/Coulsdon shelter is currently well concreted over and will take the local 'yoofs' a while to gain access again Is the Carlshalton one accessible?

As far as I know mate Ashley road is still good to go in, bit of graffiti now but still amazes me how deep it goes

Hey, I'm going on Friday, will update you. it gets sealed and re-open frequently so always a gamble. It's degraded a lot recently. Graffiti is fine but it's more what people go and do in there, lots of local kids use it as their playground, a bit like it had been the case toward the end with eartworks in Redhill.
