Taxal Lodge was built in 1905. Originally it was a private house but was later run as a boarding school/'special school', before its closure in 2005. Its future still appears to be uncertain. A couple of years ago proposals were rejected to convert it into fourteen homes. Local kids have been all over it, as you can see, and only this week there was another news report about a fire in an outbuilding.
