Did this place back in May and July.
First time I went, I entered from the opposite side of the track so couldn't get to the buildings themselves, decided to do a return in July and absolutely loved the place.

However my vist was cut short by motion sensors and some very quick security, so most of my pics are external, I still manged to get some decent pics of the place though.

Some History on the place from Wikipedia.

The Teesside Steelworks was a large expanse of steelworks that formed a continuous stretch along the south bank of the River Tees from Middlesbrough to Redcar. At its height there were 91 blast furnace within a 10 mile radius of the area. By the late 1970s, there was only one left on Teesside. Opened in 1979 and located near the mouth of the River Tees close to the river's outfall into the North Sea, the Redcar blast furnace on Teesside was the second largest in Europe.[1]

The majority of the steelworks, including the Redcar blast furnace, Redcar and South Bank coke oven and the BOS plant at Lackenby closed in 2015. The Teesside Beam Mill and some support services still operate at the Lackenby part of the site.

Not a bad effort considering how much on the ball security are now you did well thanks for posting. As i have said in the past it was so much easier when the site was live you could almost wander around quite freely within reason.

Yeah it's a shame mate, most alarmed places I've done no one ever turns up, but this one they were straight over.
Shame as well because would of love to of got right in the site where the coke ovens are.

Some good shots there. Not bad with the high security there. Shame as if you had got further in, then no doubt the results would have been cracking. None the less nice one :thumb

Needs someone keeping an eye on the place that's for sure. I'm not sure if theres been any developments since the two guys died there but there is more to see there than has been explored/reported on so far
