Took a little trip to Huddersfield. We were not prepared for the ground to be as soaking wet as it was, so we couldn't venture too far.
Worth a revisit for sure!
History (nabbed)
Named in relation to the nearby “Black Dick’s Templeâ€, which can be seen elsewhere, Temple Quarry is situated within the Kirkburton Parish of Huddersfield. The site’s last occupants were the Yorkshire based company, Holgate Aggregates Ltd. Despite being set within a vast expanse of greenbelt land planning permission was granted back in 2008 for the site to be developed in order to create a ‘below-ground waste and recycling system’ – this never happened.
