Had a little look around here a few months back and noticed there haven't been any recent reports on it so thought it might be worth a little update on the condition of the place.

Tertowie House went from mansion to residential school to being taken over by the college for the study of sports and other outdoor pursuits. It eventually closed in the early 2000s and was sold off to a private developer. Whatever plans they may have had for the place really didn't come to much, apart from an insurance claim, as it was completely gutted by a fire in 2011. There's very little left of the old building but the sports hall, showers and classroom from the newer area are still standing.

Main thing to note about the house, and the reason I went for a look, is the location of Grampian Regional Council's Emergency Centre under the gym. Expected it to be sealed but the blast door and all the escape hatches were wide open. The bunker was apparently opened in 1962 as the North East Sector Civil Defence Group Control and stayed in use until the late 60s. It came back in to use and was modernised in the mid 80s due to the rising nuclear threat. It finally closed in 1998.
It's in a sorry state now unfortunately and the maps and other items of interest have been ruined either by soaking or visitors.

If you're a fan of getting soggy ankles it's a good little wander about just below ground in the pitch black, but the floaters are a little off putting.

In to the bunker. Very little left in here to have a poke at, but at least there's a different stench in each room.
