this is the only original building that still remains from the old train station that was first opened in 1840 under the operation of 'The Midland railway', with the completion of the tewkesbury platform 1861 and the evesham platform in 1864. The tewkesbury platform closed in 1961 allong with the evesham platform in 1963 and the site closed completely in 1971, to be reopened with all new buildings in 1997.
