The Lowry Footbridge, Salford Quays - Present Ojay & Sho.

Designed by W Middleton of Parkman Limited, and completed for the Millenium.

The bridge crosses the Manchester Ship canal near its terminus at the old Manchester Docks, and conveys foot passengers over to Wharfside Road, where the new Imperial War Museum North (by Daniel Libeskind) was opened in July 2002.

It's four giant piers each winch the road deck high into the air to provide adequate clearance for large ships to pass beneath into the old Dock area and the re-developed Lowry Designer Outlet shopping centre.

This one has been lurking around on my list for a while now, so after a last minute meet up with Sho we headed over to the Quays to check out your footbridges.

We couldn't have picked a worse night, besides it being windy as fook which made taking photos awkward, around 200 peeps were emptying out of the nearby Lowry Theatre with a fair few walking accross the bridge whilst we were climbing up, LulZ.

Once up it was quite chilled, although the wind wasn't helping matters, but some quality views to be had.

We had quite an audience climbing back down, rewind a few months and I probably wouldn't have bothered :D

On your footbridges....
