So this a little different one and I have not seen a single report on this on this site either - Box hill fort is public and is owned by the national trust,
so today we went up to box hill for a bit of a family day out :) but couldn't help mooching around the fort -
unfortunately, you can't get inside of the fort

this was a pretty easy one - parked in carpark and walk to the fort (a stone throw away from carpark ) -

Box Hill Fort Mobilisation Centre, near Dorking, was built about 1892 and was used to store ammunition and equipment as part of the London Defence Scheme

So pleased to have stumbled across this thread! I visited Box Hill earlier this year and happened to wander past this site - I didn't even know it existed! However, at the time I visited, one of the large Cast Iron doors was ajar, so we squeezed in! Not much to see inside, it goes fairly deep underground and just consists of bare tunnels and rooms with very little natural light. I was pleased to see how little it had been vandalised though. I visited again during Lockdown to find that the one open door had now been sealed.
