This place is done to death but i wanted to document the place for my self and see the building before its gone, which could be soon as its getting steadily worse due to the giant hole in the roof. Below is a little info about the place for anyone who hasnt seen any of the previous reports.

The Ritz Cinema stands at the junction of Southey Green Road and Wordsworth Avenue, Sheffield. Architects were Hadfield & Cawkwell and the builders were W.G. Robson Ltd. Built in a modern style of red rustic brick, a prominent feature above the entrance doors and to each side of the facade are vertical concrete ribs which house glass brick windows between them. The Ritz Cinema opened on Monday 6th December 1939 with Bing Crosby in "Pennies From Heaven".
The Ritz Cinema never showed films on a Sunday, but a Sunday bingo session was introduced in 1962 and on 7th November 1962 apart from the Saturday afternoon Childrens matinees, the Ritz became a full time Star Bingo Club. From 17th May 1965, films returned on a part time basis on Mondays,Tuesdays,Wednesdays & Saturday evenings. Bingo continued on Sunday,Thursday & Friday evenings

Anyway, the pics. lighting stuff with a torch and using what little natural light has made some of the photos look odd colours.

The barman seemed friendly, but didnt speak much. and was see through
