Report (Permission Visit) Thurland Street tunnel, Nottingham. Oct 2018

Not as much a sneak in and snoop around as an organised walk through the 418yds of Thurland street (aka weekday cross) tunnel. Part of the Great Central mainline, became a victim like many of the Beeching axe in the 50s and 60s. Now houses heating pipes for the flats on top of the Victoria centre which makes it surprisingly warm in the tunnel. Anyway.... enjoy the pics.

It's full of relics to be seen unlike most which is awesome. If you join a group on Facebook called NNR tours, you'll be able to participate in a tour of this tunnel early next year.

I've been in glenfield tunnel twice..... compared to that one, this tunnels like a sauna!
