HISTORY
Blatantly stolen from bassboyjoe (Cheers for that)
The business that became Cliff Brewery was started in 1723 ( in Kings Quay Street, Harwich) by Thomas Cobbold and is believed to be the second oldest independent brewery in England. It stood above the quays of the River Orwell at Ipswich, since 1746.
Cobbold merged with local rival, Tollemache Breweries in 1957 to form Tolly Cobbold. The brewery ceased operations in 2002, when the Tolly Cobbold company merged with Ridley's brewery.
THE VISIT
Visited with The_Raw, bassboyjoe and 5prink5, we were told about this place and decided to waste an hour or so whilst we waited for out Sev's tour guide to finish work.
Not a bad little explore and some excitement when bassboyjoe didn't see a step missing and nearly went down a floor, woke him up a little to be fair.
