Another great big crane... love 'em. Comedy entrance, cautious start, security (or a pikey) walking around the site below, and a security guard snugly tucked up in his shed.

1. Are these cranes of simular construction? (i.e. Ladder up the inside etc.)

Generally yes, ladders vary between angled (nice) and straight up (nasty). Normally theres a big platform out back to the counterweight, but not always.
There's other differences but not much.

2. What precautions do you use for not dropping your fecking camera?

Tripod is in bag, bag is worn on front to stop snagging. Camera is in secure camera bag on belt. It's unlikely to be dropped from the top, because you are paying very careful attention to every single move you make.
