Report - Tranwell water tower (nr. morpeth) 03/07/07

Visted today with a mate. hadnt seen a report on this yet, even tho its next door to st. mary's @ stannington. Its not the highest but its a lovely easy climb to the top! We thought it was going to be one straight ladder!

Interesting, looks out of place where its situated, nice pics though.

Yeah we cant work out where it was used for. nothing but fields around. closest big places are st marys and the old RAF morpeth.

got any pics from the top?

dodnt really take many up top, my mate's got a shed load of pics so sure he'll post some up later on..

this shows what it was like up inbtween the tanks. ladders either side leading up to locked hatches. theres some sort of target painted ontop of one of them. hopefully my mate got a pic of that!
