Report - Tynecastle High School, Edinburgh, 2019/20

Thought id share this one from around 3/4 years ago.

B listed beautiful Old school, built around 1912, closed 2009. The staircase alone is worth the effort. The perimeter security and 3/4 minute security response made it one that stayed off the radar for a very long time. Now redevelopment into flats has been approved, it was only a matter of time before the media flagged it all up and daleks invaded. Needless to say its looking a lot tougher than ever now.

Thanks folks. Yes very very nice place, and the ir cams that protected it for so long done their job. After it popped up on one of the FB groups up here, last year I think with some externals, the security company ended up sitting someone inside as far as I know.

It was such a laugh to explore. Only.one block we.missed and that was due to no approach without alerting the cams.

I get a sneaky feeling now that the developer wants to see it's demise happen rather hastily to save some cash on the development. Given it sits on some pricey and desirable land.
