My first post, so please excuse the poor quality photos, they were taken on my phone.

A quick lunchtime exploration of Unity Works on Vittoria Street in the Jewellery Quarter was the home of a stampers and light fitting company up until about the mid 1980s I believe.

It was unoccupied for Much of the time after that. I remember been shown around there in the mid-1990s when I was studying architecture, and the caretaker let me have a nose around. The place was an Aladdin’s cave full of unfinished pots, ornaments and light fittings: it was as if someone left work on a Friday and never came back.

By coincidence I ended up working close by and always wanted to take another look around. Anyway, long story short, I noticed that the gate had been left wide open a few days ago so I took the opportunity to take a good look around.

Sadly, alot of the unfinished metalwork has gone- the building is going to be converted to flats and workers carted out a lot of the stuff a couple of years ago. Still a great place to explore though.
I’ll try and dig put my old pictures from the 1990s sometime.
Hope you like the pictures.

Interesting bit of insight. Sounds like it was even better a few years ago.
