Hi All

What a beautiful place. We got there in the nick of time as it seems the gardens are listed & impeccably looked after but the house is not. The house is full of asbestos & was recently occupied by squatters who have ripped everything out of the house.

Nearly all of the greenhouses have been ripped down & foundations look like they are being put in for houses?

A little bit of history...

The original garden at Bracken Hill was created by Walter Melville Wills in 1896. His son, Captain Douglas Melville Wills, donated Bracken Hill to Bristol University in 1947, and the university established a botanic garden here in 1959. The botanic garden was moved to a site at The Holmes in 2002, and Bracken Hill was sold.

The picture doesn't show the true size of this amazing fireplace, it was around 10ft tall by 8ft wide
