We visited this place on our first trip to Germany. We were in a hurry to get to a power plant before sunset, so we kind of just ran through there and didn't get to explore everything. The site is quite large, so exploring everything would take a few hours. This factory was built during WW2 to produce and store food for the army - the old buildings actually have reinforced roofs to defend against bomb attacks. When the Soviets took over, the factory became a property of the state and continued food production until the 1970s, when the production was switched to animal feed. The last larger modernization happened in the 1960s when some transportation and drying equipment was replaced. The factory stopped production in the early 1990s. This place has multiple silos, office buildings, processing buildings, and a small heating plant. The silos aren't really worth exploring, the office buildings looked like they will crumble any time, but the processing building has some equipment left in it, and both boilers in the heating plant are there as well. Overall a relaxing explore, would've liked to have more time to see it.
The ground floor of a silo
Under the roof of a silo
Boilers in the heating plant
Boilers from the top
Tanks and doors
Pipes and insulation
Control room (or what's left of it) in the processing building
A cool bridge between the processing building and a silo
The same cool bridge
Equipment left in the processing building
Thanks for reading
