Not sure how to posy this one but OK so doesn't have much history on it at the moment as this is still a massively on going dig with permission from local business owners ect
So far we've uncovered bottles medicine bottles ornaments from what we can gather what stood was demolished just after 1920 but what were looking for is a series of caves and a victorian tunnel thats hidden below we believe it could be an old bakery but we're currently looking to gain access to the tunnel under there and was hoping this would be it but no luck yet you can see pick marks all around the edge candle holders and the way the roof of this was built was pure brains the built the floor like a wall from bricks and then this hole so somethings there

Looks interesting.

If you provide more info on where it is and why you think there's more down there someone on here might be able to add something on the research side.

Very cool. YouTube links are fine in that context - I'd love to see!

Popping my head out from being a long-time lurker - mainly due to disabilities preventing much in the way of exploration. I recognise the location of these and, if the tunnel to the chimney still exists would be very interested in seeing a report. Without giving too much away about the building(s) - the tunnel leading to the chimney is approximately 350 feet in length, although reports as to its condition state it is likely to be flooded.

As a resident of the town where this is, there was an underground rifle range, a nightclub and a restaurant located in the basements/caverns beneath these buildings, together with some WW2 usage of the various caves and basements in the area as air raid shelters.

Have you come across any evidence of the above usages?

Interesting post due to the context. Looking at the aqua blue Brompton Cough Cure, that dates the site to early 1900s along with the bulk ink/blacking jars and pot bases. If you need more advice on bottles and glass, I can help you out as I’m a bottle digger and collector myself.

I suspect looking at the YouTube video you’re discovering an interconnected web of tunnels that usually linked multiple businesses to a source such as the sea or railway line for goods transportation.

So back in 1876 there used to be white rocks baths aka Turkish baths ect I have pictures of the old door way from said tunnel it used to come out onto the beach but I was guessing it was 1800 as that's when the baths were there and still are it's just no a very large underground skatepark the only plan of said tunnel is a drawing so very hard to find plus a few of the owners a really snotty round here

Thanks Tom well we hit a but of a problem on this site as the site manager got sacked for letting us in to dig for 2 weeks the new twat that took over had it all filled and sealed but we're not giving up we know there's more to this area and we've also discovered something that's just opened up behind someone's house like the bricks are literally falling away there's so much more in hastings to be found it's just being able to find them I was due to do a permission visit on a huge Convent with alot of history.
