Report - Walkley Clogs Museum - Aug 2016

Explored with my fella @UrbanBloodyBear. We got word of this place this week and had to visit immediately, thanks to @Esoteric Eric and his awesome blog.

Wow the place is intense, don't think you can get much better for photographing oddities thats been left behind, so much to see and well worth the hours drive.

Bit of history:

The mill itself was built in the late 1800's, but was bought by the owner of Walkley Clogs in 1978, and they continued to manufacture clogs for a good 30 years. The clog factory was one of the Calder Valley's most popular tourist attractions during the 1980s but began to wind down during the 1990s after a devastating fire which happened in December 1990. The building closed in 1999, and has been waiting for apartment approval for some time now.

Lots of crazy stuff left behind here and Hebden Bridge is a pretty nice area.

There is another mill 5 minutes down the road and there used to be a cinema and GP practice in nearby Todmorden.

The shots look more atmospheric for being in the dark. Do you explore in the day time?

Also, usual protocol to stick a bit of history on reports even if it's copied from somewhere else :-).

Cheers for heads up on history, did notice people put it but didn't want to come across as repetitive so have edited one in anyway.

Only doing night time at the moment just due to busy day schedule but hoping to do some day ones soon
