Thanks guys, although the airport isn't abandoned I can confirm you can still get into one of the two building of the old leadworks that remain.

When I get the chance I might go to that nightclub and the flats etc, thanks for all the suggestions!

Sorry for jumping on a semi old post here, I'm from the Gateshead area, there's this wonderful place I'm yet to explore in Hebburn, the old boat yard, The Hawthorne Lesley. (https://www.28dayslater.co.uk/hawthorn-leslie-shipyard-hebburn-march-may-2012.t72000) I can't remember the address but a bit of googling should find it. There is also a abandoned house in Wickham, some French dude abandoned his creation (which is beautiful) Good small explore, be careful though, out in the open. When I explored it, had police show up. First time getting caught haha, let us go straight away though. Saw the camera and they were fine. The house is located around 25 Swalwell Bank, Whickham, Newcastle upon Tyne NE16 4AU.

If anyone fancies exploring anywhere, send me a message! With a car, we can go far

EDIT:***If you explore Hawthorne Lesley please be careful, there was a blaze a couple years ago which further aged the structures***

little bit later but there is an asylum in stannington called st mary's asylum, it is/was abandoned. some of it was renovated (from what i know) and changed into a bed and breakfast but there is still other parts of it that is abandoned and you are able to get into.

Most of it is pulled now, mainly just the hospital part left.

I know of another place in Sunderland that is abandoned. It is a Care Home.
