History:
Wapping First School, built in 1877 and was home to one of the first school swimming pools in the UK. It was closed in 2000 and sold to a development company in 2006 but has remained in planning limbo since.
Originally visited this site a few years ago but couldn't get inside, all that was possible was to take photos through cracks and windows. After going back yesterday we found that access was pretty easy. I think it may be a typical spot for the homeless as there is somebody currently sleeping inside the swimming pool area (Didn't see who, but found the camp).
The inside of the school isn't anything magnificent, it is pretty damaged with lots of graffiti but still an interesting site. The swimming pool is round the front, which i think would be quite easy to miss but definitely a main interest if you do head down there. I think it seems quite a typical hang out for youths perhaps.
