Apparently it's a chap named John Shoan (Shone, Shoane... unsure of the spelling) who owns the place, the operator of the vineyard/restaurant appealed unsuccessfully against a rent review, and the place went on the market.

Apparently the all the vines and restaurant have nothing to do with the site owner.

Whereabouts are you based @Thebfg ??

Thanks for that. I do recognise the name, there is a story there about who planted the vines etc and how the various people came in to run it. But il never know it.

I'm currently in Southampton, but grew up in romsey.
