Last day at work so time tomess around doing a report :D
As prev reports I genuinely cant find much about this place but believe it was just a quarry & processing area for products used in the nearby cement works (which I believe is also closed down, not sure if anyone has checked that out?)

Whatever it is, its one of the biggest damn holes Iv seen & access forces you precariously close to the edge!

Visited here with @Down and beyond after a mad underground trip & it was a pleasant surprise, I have a lot of pics so will just get on with the industrial goodness.

Nice photos. Looks an interesting explore. Lovely bits of industry there. Loads of walkways too. Like this a lot.

Do enjoy seeing large quarrying machinery.

It appears to be a Raw Mill which would make sense considering the Former Westbury Cement works (closed 2009, now part demolished) is almost next to it.

Looking a bit further online it seems to be half of the system that was in place with the clay washed here and it then pumped to the cement works for grinding into rawmix.

Sounds right, I presume they did some sort of processing there to then take product straight to the cement works.
Do u know if any of the works is still standing

That's really nice that is. Got some great bits of stuff left. And that is one big hole ain't it. And guessing bigger when you see it for real.

The cement works is maybe a mile or so away where there are still some storage facilities but no production is done there any longer. A few months ago this quarry was used as a location for the new Mission Impossible movie with Tom Cruise filming here.
