The Wharncliffe works produced stoves, grates and fenders, but it seems to have been used as storage in its later years. The interior was very original, with ornate iron pillars and fire places still in situ.
There was no trace of the steel industry, but lost of 1980's propaganda from the redevelopment of Sheffield... lots and lots of promises it would seem, looks like meadowhall and Maccy D's was about all that was delivered.
