The factory closed end of 2000 and relocated up the M606, it was open over 100 years and was bought out by someone from Northampton , although the new place didnt last long after the move.
Tescos bought the land for a 1.5 million, it was part of the deal for more money to be given if the store was built , but it was turned down after local buisness complained.
Whiteley made parts for JCB diggers and catapillar etc.
