"Whitwick Quarry owned was by the company Tarmac, It opened in 1983, however the current location was more recent with work beginning in 1929. I haven't managed to find what year the asphalt site closed however the site had plenty of interesting parts to see - as long as you like brown with a tinge of orange.
If you like your kit to be kept clean, dont visit this site. I am still cleaning dust and debris out of my kit nearly 3 days after visiting.
It was a filthy place and i fucking hated it but hey ho, here we go......
