Thought i might as well throw my shots up from here.

First thanks to Els and Northern Ninja for making it possible.

Visited with Ojay, Lawrence and Rookinella.

A good night/day, nice to meet The Bearded one and Rooks at last :thumb
And thanks to Ojay for keeping me awake with his snoring for 2 hours, saved us ending upside down in a ditch on the way home after being up for 28hrs :thumb

Just a little history from Lawrence's report

RAE Bedford was a research site of the Royal Aircraft Establishment between 1946 and 1994. It was located near the village of Thurleigh, north of the town of Bedford in England and was the site of aircraft experimental development work.

The airfield was decommissioned in February 1994 after a lengthy study determined that flight operations should be centralised at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire.

The airfield was finally closed in 1997 with the RAE having become the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA). DERA consolidated its experimental flying operations at Boscombe Down, moving aircraft from Farnborough as well as Bedford.
